Mile 115 - Cave Canyon Iron Mine
jhpribbeno > albums > The Mojave Road
Album Info:
A place to play with the jeeps. Here we are going up a short steep hill to the mine on the north side of the road. Originally this site was mined for limestone from 1914 until 1926 called the Sugar Lime Rock Company. Magnetite, hematite, and subordinate limonite were obtained here to manufacture cement later as the name changed to the Cave Canyon Iron Mine.
