Congratulations on your POTD! When I was in Hawaii in 1985, I got a few great shots of the Blue Angels as they were practising over Waikiki Beach. The next day they had a proper show but it rained and they scaled it back somewhat. Glad I saw the better show the day before. They are quite amazing! Love the Canadian Snowbirds too!... Leslie ....

In 1955 when my family moved to Corpus Christi the Blue Angels were based there and my brothers and I were always excited to see them in the air. We watched many airshows at the Naval Air Base there. This brings back happy memories. I'm still partial to the Blue Angels.

Great picture and ALWAYS glad to see the "Blues". We watch them quite a bit practicing in Pensacola. They do a Homecoming show in November; and on the weekend after 4th of July every year they do a show on the beach that is SPECTACULAR! Nice job.

WOW! I can't beleive that my photo made POTD! I took this from the ground using a Nikon D70 with a 55-200 zoom lens. I was zoomed in to 200 when I took the shot. They were flying very close, so I was able to get it framed well. I love the contrails on this shot, and that the angle makes it look like the jets are just inches apart.

Really nice photo! Well framed, clear and sharp; no mean feat given the range to subject and the speed those guys can achieve. I spent 10 years of my life as part of the team that designed the electronic engine control for that aircraft.
