Album Info:

Earl was a P-38 pilot during World War Two. He is standing next to a similar plane that he soloed in at the beginning of the war. Earl told us that the instructor ALWAYS sat in the forward seat because the students had a tendency to get air sick. He said that you couldn't see past the cowling looking forward anyway. To get their bearings, they leaned their head over the side of the cockpit to see what was in front of them.
