Developed in the late 70's to combat the new generation of crusie missile. This aeroplane is based on the Mig 25 Foxbat airframe. A new lookdown radar system which enabled this aircraft to target and shoot 10 targets simultaneously gives it a modern capability. Much more capable at lower level than it's predecessor it is still in use in the Russian airforce.
