Before we get started lay a bath towel or blanket over your tank to prevent damage should you drop something on it. Remove the two chrome caps and loosen the two 5mm Allen bolts on the brake lever clamp and slide it to the left but be careful of the wires that go from the throttle housing to the brake switch on the under side of the assembly(see next photo)
