A reverse view of the switch point area. The pivot points for the switches are one area to paint last with very careful light dry brushing so that underside electrical contact is maintained. Within reason, you don't need to worry about paint polluting the switch mechanism thru the opening for the slider or the left side area, as from the underside photos following, you'll see the electronic parts are much further to the right underside in this photo.
