Pretend the aluminum template is the running board and you have just cut the opening (see previous picture) Insert two 10 x 32 x 1-1/2 stainless steel screws through the holes. Heads facing the step side of the board. Slip a 10 x 32 stainless steel flat washer and run a self locking nut all the way up. Snug the nut up, but don't get carried away. The screws will be the mounting studs for the light.
