Close up of suspension. Axle needs finish welding. I made the frame 41-3/4 inches wide. This allowed me to put the top of the shackles right thru the frame rail and thus lower the suspension a bit further while still keeping the chassis narrow enough to fit between the 2x4 rails of the floor structure. I'll never use a leaf spring suspension again though. I thought it would be less expensive than a torsion axle. It ended up costing about the same and required more engineering to make it wo
