952 is not a rebuild--it was Riverfront 456 from 1988 through 1997 after being brought back from retirement. A month after this August 1, 1998 picture was taken, 952 would be trucked to San Francisco, where it sees service on the F-Market & Wharves line (see New Orleans 3--Riverfront, Muni Vintage Cars 4--New Orleans 952 and Misc. US Transit albums for other pictures of this car). Riverfront 459 is on the left, receiving new wheels. © 2001 Peter Ehrlich (10358761)
