Album Description:

Wilson Alley, a grade from downtown Shreveport Louisiana to a point near I 20, is officially listed as a 1.4 % grade. I think its steeper, and it may be one of the few places in Louisiana (not exactly known for its grades) where freight trains stall.

    • Neat little photo essay Dude. It must be a steep enough grade for 4 engines to stall. Perhaps the load was too much. I wonder how many cars the UP had and were they full? Maybe a lesson may be learned from that for units going though the area in the future. Regards from Ron.
