Album Description:
Wilson Alley, a grade from downtown Shreveport Louisiana to a point near I 20, is officially listed as a 1.4 % grade. I think its steeper, and it may be one of the few places in Louisiana (not exactly known for its grades) where freight trains stall.

Neat little photo essay Dude. It must be a steep enough grade for 4 engines to stall. Perhaps the load was too much. I wonder how many cars the UP had and were they full? Maybe a lesson may be learned from that for units going though the area in the future. Regards from Ron.
