  • Hi Rob, I luckely was able to buy an original crankcase with the spin on oil filter. If you should ever decide to sell the bike instead of repairing it just let me know. SG

  • well actually, we are still considering how to repair it. In the analysis of the way it cracked, we discovered that the crack probably flexed too much, thereby causing one side of the cases to burst. The cracks radiate out from the major bearing which seems to imply a wobbling crank. I MUST be sure the same problem won;t occur next time we stress this thing. Could be that we need a stronger crack and/or more meat/flanges on the case to cope with any flexing. Not an easy problem....
