  • Hello Folks, I wouldlike to set the record straight on a couple of things here. First the KC135 was not a offshoot of the 707 but actually a smaller aircraft but not by much.It did take a lot of its its design ideas from the 707.If you are ever at an airshow and happen to see a KC135 and E3 side by side look closely as the E3 is the fuselage and wings of a 707-300. Also the C17 has winglet, the C5 does not at this time. Would not be suprised if they were not put on later on the C5.

  • 187 Wrong. I agree with prophed. Ther are more differences. As far as I know, no Galaxies were fitted with winglets ex USAF

  • Noticed your caption "KC-125 & B-52 A BUFF gets a drink from the USAF version of the Boeing 707." by prophed Actually the KC-135 was designed & built by Boeing without a contract from the Air Force to replace the prop driven KC-97. It was such a success that the airlines wanted a civilial version so the 707 is in reality a civilian version of the KC-135.

  • The planes I've identified as C-17's are indeed C-17's. The Globemaster III and the Galaxy can be told apart by looking at the tail. The Galaxy's elevators are mounted at the top of the tail, while the Globemaster's are slightly below the top. Also, the C-5 has a dagger-type extension at the front of the tail.
