I was amazed to see FNV 705 fully restored, as I once part-owner of that vehicle! I bought it in about 1977 with John Parmenter from a private vendor in North London, and I drove it to Maldon, Essex where we had hoped to restore it. It had a livery of black and green, and was in need of mechanical attention, as well as bodywork repairs. Unfortunately, lack of facilities, expertise and time meant that we were unable to do much to it, and it was deteriorating as it stood outside for many months. Eventually, through the agency of a colleague, it went to the Canvey Island Bus Museum in about 1980. What happened to it after that remained a mystery to me until I saw it on this site! Any information about it would be most appreciated, and I have further details of its history that I would be happy to share with its present owner, or anyone else interested.
