Glenn here; I've been an aircraft nut since I was 5 yrs old. I would watch flights of B-52s making their final approach to Davis-Monthan AFB (then a strategic air command base) directly over my house! They were so low( just lowering their landing gear) I could wave at the pilots, and some would reply by waggling that mighty birds wings! Your third photo (of the BF109), has a dead link to leave a message; that shot is of the 1st series which got its "baptism of fire" during the Spanish Civil War; the film "Battle of Britain" used this model, the only tech error as the "E" series was the adversary in 1940, a much improved plane with an inverted motor (exhaust stacks being at the bottom) and direct fuel injection.

Hello My name is Hondo Murray. I really enjoyed the pictures of the tanks and planes...I am always interested in learning more about WWI and II history. On an indirectly related topic...I also collect replicas of WWI and II planes. As well as modern jets. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you'd like to discuss any of this further. You can write to me at... JodiandHondo@aol.com PS: Oh, and I also collect comic books. Take care.

this is a picture of a Lockheed Starfighter F-104 G, used in Airforce and Navy until 1980 in German armed forces.

Hi! you really searched out so good "stuff" . I think the "German Bomber" is a Republic F-84F Thunderstreak and the XF-91 is a North American F-86D, the German Fighter is a Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. Keep hunting your finding interesting aircraft alo9ng the way..John
